Board Nominations

Nominations are being accepted for several board positions. These director positions are for two-year terms beginning January 2012. New board members need to be seated by January in order for the Board to then vote for the officer positions.

  1. New nominees must complete the Board Nomination Form and questionnaire and submit it to info@bbrescue.org.
  2. Incumbent directors who are running for re-election must completed the Incumbent Nomination form and questionnaire and submit it to info@bbrescue.org
  3. Nominations and questionnaires will be reviewed by the Board and potential candidates will be contacted for a telephone interview.
  4. Nominations close on Sunday, November 13, 2011.

Examples of General Board Responsibilities

1)    Work with other Board members in ensuring that the goals and intent of BBR’s Mission Statement is satisfied.
2)    Assist the Board in reaching mutually acceptable decisions that are in the best interest of the BBR dogs as well as Basset Buddies Rescue as a whole.
3)    Act as Board liaison for a BBR Coordinator

a.  Actively support and assist them in understanding and meeting their responsibilities.
b.  Handle their coordinator’s duties when the coordinator is unable to.
c.  Develop and/or assist in developing processes where needed.
d.  Make every attempt to attend the largest fund raiser of the year, BassetFest.

Basset Buddies Rescue, Inc. is a community of volunteers who have whole-heartedly committed their hearts and their hands to the rescue and re-homing of the hounds that we care for and love.
