Bobbi Sue is a very special girl who was rescued from a bad situation by a good-hearted community member. BBR was contacted to help. Bobbi Sue was taken immediately to the vet and had surgery right away. She had an infected mass removed from her shoulder that needed 25 staples and 2 drains placed in the incision. She had 4 teeth pulled. Her mouth was so very badly infected that quite a few teeth were already gone. She also had infections in both ears. She went to an emergency foster home and then to her current foster home where she is continuing her recovery. All along this journey everyone has remarked on what a sweet girl she is. Although she must have been in terrible pain she never growled or pulled away. She just wagged her tail and tried to snuggle up. Bobbi Sue seems to love everyone and rides well in the car. BBR volunteer Lora has even made her a special t-shirt to help cover her healing incision.
Update on Bobbi Sue. Bobbi has made a lot of progress and is doing well. She has discovered two great new joys in life. She loves gentle children who pamper her and power naps on a soft couch.

12/12 Update on Bobbie Sue from her foster mom! Bobbie Sue is the most gentle and loving little girl you will ever meet. She still has a few minor ailments, which is to be expected with her age, however all are manageable with diet and meds. Most of her issues were due to food allergies, but by eliminating grains from her diet we have managed to keep her symptoms at bay. We also have her on a Pepcid type medicine for her stomach and some anti-inflammatory medication to keep the aches and pains away. She wants you to know she feels like a young girl again now that everything is under control.
As she has learned to feel more secure with her surroundings, we’ve also seen her wonderful personality come out. She ‘talks’ quite a bit to my son, especially if he is in the kitchen cooking something good. And she likes to patrol the fence to be sure the backyard is safe for her foster family.
She does still have some moments where an unexpected noise will cause her to run and hide, but is getting much better. When she first arrived here she would hide every time I did the dishes, but now she understands those are the sounds of a happy home, and only hides if I accidently drop the big pan.
I would love to see her find her forever home, someplace where she can feel safe and loved. If you are looking for a calm and loving older girl who would make a wonderful companion, then Bobbie Sue is the one.
