Hi, I’m Winchester! I came to BBR because my previous owner developed medical problems and could no longer take care of me. She loved me very much. I am a big, active boy and I love playing with my foster basset siblings. I have lived with cats in the past and gotten along well with them. I like to play ball and hide and go seek. I don’t even mind having my teeth brushed! As you can see, I’m a very good “sitter upper” and a high speed tail wagger. I am house trained and crate trained.
I am very nervous meeting new people, but if they give me a little time (and a few treats) I will make friends. I’m also afraid of loud noises and thunderstorms. Because I can be scared of loud noises and sudden movements, and may be protective of my food bowl, I’d do best in a home without small children.

Hi, I’m Hot Lips… yup, named after Hot Lips from MASH! I’m a super sweet girl who’s very social and loves to play. My former owner had some health problems and could no longer care for a young pup like me, so I’m searching for my new forever home. I’d love to be an only dog and give my new parents lots of hound lovin’! My foster mom took me to a vet and he said I am heartworm positive. The vet said that since I’m so young and have no symptoms, I should respond to treatment quite well! I’m currently on the waiting list for the medication I need, which is in short supply. Won’t you please consider adopting me, or even just helping BBR with my treatment? It’d mean so much to me to have you help heal my heart!
Update! I have received my heartworm treatment and am doing well.
