Hi, my name is Trixie Bell! I am a lovely young basset girl with the cutest nose freckles.  I used to live with Lily Pad but when we came into rescue I went to my own foster home. I do like having a dog buddy with me to play with and keep me company.  I can be a bit anxious at times so I am currently taking medication to help me relax.  I am a very good girl in the house and I love to go for walks!  Sadly my former owner passed away so Basset Buddies is helping me find a new family to call my own.

Trixie is a loving dog and very affectionate but she does have a few challenging behaviors.  She has separation anxiety for which she receives medication.  She is uneasy around children, seems fearful of them and will growl if they come too close.  She is reactive toward other dogs on walks and will bark and lunge. She lived with another basset before coming to BBR and lives with a basset now so we think she can live with other dogs.  She just gets too excited when on a leash.

Trixie will need an adopter who is willing to help Trixie be her best and has the dog training skills to do that.

Woofs to you, my name is Dierks! I came to BBR because my family felt they did not have the time to give me the attention they know I deserve. I am an easy going guy, with just enough grey to make me look distinguished – don’t you agree? Personally, I think I look a little like George Clooney. It took me about a day to settle in and now I feel very much at home. I get along well with my foster brothers and sisters and even help foster mom keep warm at night. I am very much the gentleman and I certainly do have “the look” down to an art. Foster mom says I have let a few pounds sneak on so she has been watching my portions and takes me on walks every day.  I like the walks but not crazy about the size of my meals. Ah well, she knows how to give a good bellyrub so I think this will be a good place to stay while BBR looks for my forever home.

Daisy #2138-Adopted August 2015!

Age: 9 1/2
Weight: 70 lbs.

Being fostered in Wisconsin.

Update: Daisy was recently returned after being adopted by her foster home.  There was a lot going on in the home including a litter of puppies and several other young dogs.  It seems Daisy would be happier in a more mellow setting.

Hello, my name is Daisy!  My family split up, and no one was really able to care for me.  I have gotten along in the past with other dogs  and cats, and I’ve lived with teenagers.  In my foster home I’ve been exposed to kids as young as 4 but I’m more comfortable with kids around 10 or older.  I also prefer older dogs to pups.  I’m house trained, crate trained and leash trained, and I will even go into the bath tub when told to.  I love walks and I do not pull.  I know some tricks as well and like car rides.  I do like my space when eating or drinking and would prefer a quiet home as I am a senior.  I enjoy barking at passing neighbors but do not enjoy vacuums.  I enjoy attention and belly rubs and communicate well with my humans.  I have had a few seizures in the past due to epilepsy though they have been infrequent and I’m not on any medication for it.

Hello and nice to meet you, we are Fred and Wilma!  Our owner was ill and unable to care for us but now we are living in a nice foster home.  We have been described as sweet and lazy :) I, Fred, am a bit of a picky eater.  I’m also nervous during thunderstorms, and tend to like to know where my Wilma is at all times.
