Harper #2149-Adopted October 2015

Age: 14 months
Weight 45 lbs.

Being fostered in Wisconsin.

Harper came into rescue when one of her owner’s passed away and she was a bit much for her remaining parent to handle alone.  Harper quickly found a new home with a young couple and another playful young dog who can appreciate her energy!

Jack #2147-Adopted August 2015

8 yrs.

Being fostered in Wisconsin.

Jack came in to BBR’s care along with Brett when his family had moved and the new home and location did not seem to be working out well with the boys.  Jack found a new home before ever making it on to the website!

I need a foster home!

We are very happy to say that Winnie did find a foster home.  She is being fostered through a different rescue organization.

Age: 4 yrs. (DOB: 2/01/11)
Weight: 40 lbs

Winnie was adopted from another rescue when she was just a puppy. Right from the start her family realized that she was a very fearful dog.  Because they love her very much they worked hard to help her be more confident, even seeking help from several trainers.  When their child became a toddler they had to make the difficult decision to rehome Winnie.  She is just too nervous with a young active child running around her house and it is unreasonable to ask a 2 yr old to give Winnie the space she needs.  Winnie needs slow introductions to new people and new dogs but she is very capable of making attachments and can be very loving with the people she knows.  We aren’t quite sure what her heritage is but there is definitely some kind of hound included in the mix.

Winnie needs a special foster home without children.   A fenced yard is also required.  If you would like more information about fostering Winnie please contact BBR at

Annabelle #2254 Adopted 11/01/15!

Age: estimated 8 yrs. (DOB: 2007)
Weight: 41 lbs
Being fostered in Minnesota.

Please welcome Annabelle to BBR.  This little lady found rescue through the help of a good-hearted person who urged her current family to give her to Leech Lake Legacy who helps pets in need.  When they contacted BBR and asked if we had a spot for the sweetest little basset ever, we of course said yes!  Miss Annabelle enjoys attention from all ages of people and all sizes of dogs.  She has met one cat since coming to foster care and did fine with him.  She is unusually quiet for a basset, well except for a little snoring.   She is just a dear little dog and has so much love to give.

Annabelle is catching up on her vet care as that has been neglected in the past.  Because she has a heart murmur, she will be evaluated by cardiology specialist before she has the dental cleaning she very much needs.

Annabelle loves to be out and about.  So far she has visited both a brew pub and the local dog-friendly hardware store where she was treated like a queen!

Being fostered in Wisconsin.

Hello, my name is Waylon!  Due to health issues, my former owner was no longer able to provide me the care and exercise I require.  I am used to being home with my person and do get barky and upset when I can’t find anyone so I need a family that can be home with me much of the time.  Foster mom says I am otherwise a super nice boy and quite the lap dog.  She also says I could use a bit of work on the leash as I can pull, but its not too bad.  I’ve been around dogs and cats and want to play though I’ve noticed cats don’t always want to play back.  I’ve been a good dog in my foster home and I could be a good boy in your home too.
