Sending a BIG hug to Buddy from Alexandra and Chris!

Hi, my name is Buddy and I’m a fun guy. My previous family could no longer care for me so I came to BBR and I like it here!  I have a great foster family and they are helping me feel so much better.  My skin was really irritated from allergies, but I’ve already had a soothing bath and the vet gave me medication to make me feel even better.  I’m an easy going and happy guy. I still like to play with toys and I enjoy going for walks.  My legs are a little twisty but that doesn’t slow me down.  My foster family calls me “Perfect!”

Hello, my name is Houston!  I was turned over to a shelter because sadly my human was about to be homeless.  The shelter asked BBR to take me in so I could have a better chance of finding a home of my own, plus the shelter environment was stressful for me.  I have lived with dogs, cats and kids just fine but I can get protective of my food and toys towards other dogs.  My new foster mom says I have been more interested in the companionship of the people than dogs in the home and pay no mind to the cats.  I’ve been pretty good on a leash, with minimal pulling.  I’m ridiculously sweet and loving (look, those are her words, I’m not trying to toot my own horn or anything).  I don’t have accidents in the house and I’m smart so I signal by the door to go out.  I’m good at matching the activity level of my people, whether we are out exercising or lounging around at home.  I really just want a new home with a loving, accepting family to call my own.  If that home belongs to you, please fill out an adoption application.

Notes from foster mom:
Houston is currently living with 4 other dogs. He has not displayed any signs of resource guarding towards the other dogs in his foster home. He occasionally gets in a good romp with the other dogs but usually sits on the sidelines trying to figure out how to engage with two wrestling 2yo dogs.  Houston in an inch or two taller than most bassets and has no problem with stairs or getting on and off furniture. He’s quite nimble for a big guy.  Houston LOVES to go for walks! He’s a great walking companion.  Houston eats separately from the other dogs but has no issues taking treats in the presence of others. BBR took care of the teeth that were rotting in Houston’s mouth and causing him pain. Since healing, he has been model basset – silly, happy, flopping over for belly rubs kinda dog.

Hi!  We are Daisy and Dutch!  We came to BBR together when our family was no longer able to care for us.  We are young pups that love to play and interact all day, but foster mom still says we are well behaved for our age.  She does not feel we are codependent enough to need to be placed together, but another playful dog or more is a must.  We have been good with other dogs.  We like kids but can get excited and knock young ones down accidentally.  We are pretty much housetrained but you should always expect a few accidents from a new pet.  We definitely need work while walking on a leash.  We are used to sleeping crated at night, and crated in the car as well.  Overall, we have been very nice doggies.

Note: Daisy has already been adopted, but Dutch is still in the process of finding his forever family.

If you are interested in getting approved to adopt, please fill out an adoption application here.
