Sometimes you choose the dog and sometimes the dog chooses you! Congrats on your new/old home Jez!

A messege from Jezebel’s foster mom:

Jezebel came to us from a shelter, a failed home and another shelter. In the beginning she was picked up as a stray so we don’t have a lot of information about her. Because of her injuries we think she was either abused or hit by a car while she was running free. Her ‘home’ gave her up because they didn’t have time for her.  But she is with Basset Buddies now and we have all the time in the world for this gentle loving girl!

It has been a tough week for BBR as we let go of yet another special senior basset.  Remington’s quality of life had deteriorated significantly these past few months after he was diagnosed with kidney disease.  Besides drinking lots and lots, and having accidents, he was trembly and was unable to sleep at night as he was so restless.  His foster mom Sue knew it was time to let go.  She was greatful for the time they had together, as we are greatful for the loving home she gave to him.

Hi, I’m Remington, but you can call me Remy!  I was returned to BBR when a change in my owners’ household was not working out. I prefer a predictable routine and a lifestyle more on the quiet side. I have not been bothered by the other dogs I’ve met since leaving my home, and am enthusiastic about meeting new people who pet me. I am living with a cat for the first time and was barking at him a lot at first, but day by day, he is growing on me. I can do stairs and love a nice walk with lots of smells to check out.  I did not get a lot of walks previously, so this might be my favorite part of the day.  My foster mom describes me as sweet, and I think you would agree!
