Looks like Barney has found a forever home with his foster family.  Hurray for Barney!

Barney updates:  He has been working hard to lose some of those extra pounds and is now down to 81 lbs!  Way to go Barney! Update Barney now at 78 lbs!  Now down to 75 lbs!  At his new slimmer weight Barney has rediscovered the fun of playing.

Woofs to you! My name is Barney and I am a laid back kind of guy.  My family loved me very much but had to move to a location where they could not keep me.  I am settling in well at my foster home.  Lots of friends there, other dogs, a cat, a bunny and even  a little girl!  I like all the company.
I do get a little flack about my weight and I suppose I should try and lose a little.  I have a sensitive stomach and occasionally get something called colitis.  To prevent upsets I take a low does of prednisone and this helps a lot.  Unfortunately it makes me pretty hungry too and I also have to go outside more frequently.  Because I am a big boy I prefer not to do a lot of stairs.  My foster home has people around most of the time and they have a ramp to go outside.  This works really well for me.  I sure hope I can find a forever home just like this!

Hello, my name is Gracie! My family ran into some difficult times and could no longer care for me.  Fortunately they found BBR so here I am.  I am a very pretty girl but somehow over the years the pounds have snuck up on me.  The vet says that watching my diet and getting some exercise will help me reduce to a healthy weight.  I’m thinking maybe I could lose 5 lbs if I must, but the vet said more like 25- can you believe that? I am a sweet, easy going basset girl with very nice manners.  I get along well with my foster sister and the grandchildren.  I am house trained and love my crate.  I am particularly proud of my beautiful long ears. One of them even has a lace pattern on it.  Hope I get to meet my forever family soon!

Hello, my name is John Wayne.  My owner purchased me when I was very young, but now she doesn’t have the time for me that she used to.  I am much happier when I am not alone to0 much.  She also wants me to have some siblings because she knows how much I love to play with other dogs.  I love the outdoors, and playtime, and snuggling.  I do have some seasonal allergies in the late summer/early fall that can make me rather uncomfortable and has required medication.

Hello, my name is Bosco! My family brought me to BBR because they didn’t have time for me with a new baby, new job and new house. Also, I used to have a fenced yard to play in but the new house didn’t. I have lived with kids and other dogs. Cats too, but I would chase them so a home without might be best. I’m a bit finicky at meal times and liked to bring my dish into the dinning room myself so I could eat with the family. I have been alone 7-8 hours a day without a problem, though more recently someone has been home most of the day. I’m pretty good on a leash but get excited about other dogs or people.

Basset/Lab Mix

Being fostered in Wisconsin.

Hello, my name is Molly! Recently I was picked up as a stray by animal control and when no one came to get me I got a foster home with BBR. My foster mom believes someone was working with me previously as I am smart and well behaved. I am working through some ear infections and a respiratory infection from being out alone when it was so bitterly cold. I seem to be a mix of some kind and right now its hard to guess because I am so young but basset/lab mix is the consensus for the time being.

Note from foster mom: Molly is a sweet girl who loves life. She has such an easy going go with the flow attitude. She is good on a leash, knows how to sit and listens very well in general. When I take her out she reminds me of a fox because she is about that size and the same color. She is really good about only chewing on bones and her rope toy. At night, she will curl up in bed with anyone who will let her and cuddle right until morning when it’s time to get up. We are working on crate training for when we have to go away during the day or evening. We are also working on potty training but and she is about 75% trained I would say. She gets along really well with the younger of her foster brothers and knows to give space to the old one.
