Hello, my name is Waylon!  Due to health issues, my former owner was no longer able to provide me the care and exercise I require.  I am used to being home with my person and do get barky and upset when I can’t find anyone so I need a family that can be home with me much of the time.  Foster mom says I am otherwise a super nice boy and quite the lap dog.  She also says I could use a bit of work on the leash as I can pull, but its not too bad.  I’ve been around dogs and cats and want to play though I’ve noticed cats don’t always want to play back.  I’ve been a good dog in my foster home and I could be a good boy in your home too.

* Cleo is considered special needs because she is blind.
Update: Cleo has now had eye surgery to remove her damaged and painful eye.  The vet recommended that the fake eye be removed as well as it was a source for discomfort and infection.  Cleo is doing well.

This sweet, gentle basset girl came to BBR because her owner could no longer care for her.  She is blind from glaucoma. Her right eye was removed previously and she has an implant in that eye. Now her left eye has been affected by glaucoma as well. Cleo seems to have very little if any vision left in that eye.  Cleo gets along well with other dogs and cats.  Because she is blind and has very crooked front legs, she would do best in a home with few stairs. She is friendly and inquisitive and enjoys attention.  Although she has some physical challenges, Miss Cleo has not let them get her down and she is ready to move on to the next phase of her life.  She deserves a forever home that will pamper her greatly!Cleo2252w

A big hug to Cleo in memory of Cassie who lived to be almost 17 yrs old. She was blind too but didn't let it stop her. Love from Milinda and Jon

Hi my name is Bentley!  I am back with BBR through no fault of my own. I am still the handsome, easy going basset fellow I have always been.  I get along with everybody, even cats!  I have settled in nicely to my foster home and enjoy lounging on the deck.

Lilo #2144-Adopted September 2015

Age: 11 years in September
Weight: 50 lbs.

Being fostered in Wisconsin.

Hello, my name is Lilo!  I came to BBR when my growing family felt they no longer had time for me.  In the few weeks I have been in foster care I have been a great girl! (Ok, there was that one night grandma came to visit and I squished her right out of bed…ooops!) I eat all my foodies and play nice with the other doggies who are seniors like me, and I like the little girlies who are 7 and 5, oh and that stinky baby too.  At first I liked to sleep in the bottom bunk below my 5 year old girlie but now that I am more comfy I sleep in the green chair or a dog bed or my foster parent’s room.  I don’t spend much time on the furniture during the day, even though it is totally allowed.  I love being outside, sniffing everything or sleeping in the sun, and I go in the kiddie pool all the time which no one else wants to go in for some reason.  I like to hoard the dog bones, just a certain kind with a red stripe down the middle, and no one but me knows why.  I’m not aggressive about it, I just make secret piles around the house.  I am pretty good on a walk and really like to go.  I am very quiet, so I never bother anyone, though I am always waiting anxiously for breakfast.  I lay down in the bath tub, and I roll over when I get my nails cut so my mom wonders if I forget how to be a basset sometimes.  I am a very healthy girl who has more spunk than you would expect at my age, though I like sleepy time too.  My downfall is my stinky breath but I am getting something called a dental cleaning which I hear will help with that situation.  Which is good because my family seems to gag when we are in the car together with the windows rolled up.  And I like the car, I do well in that thing.  Well, that’s all I can think of for now, maybe I will get to meet you at Bassetfest?

Winston #1913-Adopted September 2015!

Male jesse winston 1
Age: 5 1/2 years
Weight: 68 lbs.

Being fostered in Wisconsin.

☆•*¨*•.¸Hug me!¸.•*¨*•☆☆

Winston and his brother Jesse were recently returned to BBR due to health issues of their owner.  The boys had their own health issue as a result-they came in quite obese.  Both boys worked hard and lost a lot of weight.  Because they did not seem very dependent on each other, they were separated and did just fine in their respective foster homes.  Jesse has found his forever home but Winston is still looking.  Winston has lived with other dogs, cats and kids.  However, it seems he may do better in a quieter household as that is what he is most used to.
