Zap recently came to the BBR foster family. She, along with five other Bassets, were relinquished to a Wisconsin shelter. Her owner was suffering from a terminal illness and could no longer care for her dogs. Zap was the last of the six left and they asked BBR for help.
Zap is a very sweet, seven years young girl. She is petite for a basset being only about 40 pounds. She is great with other dogs, cats and children, being very respectful. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body! She tends to be a nervous dog as it seems that she has not experienced many things. We are working on her manners and she is a very fast learner!
Zap has become her foster parents’ shadow, following us around from room to room. She is crate trained and sleeps in one at night. She prefers to be by your side and is not an attention getter. She has a beautiful hound bark that you only get to hear once in awhile.
Zap takes some warming up to people but if you give her a little time she will give you her heart.
We are looking for our forever family, one that will love us as much as we love them.
