Exposure to children?    No  

Describe the dog’s reaction to children: Her past is unknown. However, the times that I have exposed her to children have gone well. She enjoys them petting her and seeks them out for affection.

Good with other dogs?    Yes

Comments about behavior with other dogs:    She is very submissive and does well with other dogs, both male and female.

Good with cats?    Yes

Comments about behavior with cats:    She currently lives with several cats and is very respectful of them.

Good with birds, parrots, etc.    Unknown

Good with other pets    Unknown

Can climb stairs?    Yes

Comments about stairs:    She does fine with stairs, no issues.

Pulls on a leash?    Yes

Comments about pulling on a leash:    She pulls enough to make it taut, then looks at you like, “why aren’t we going?” She doesn’t pull your arm off.

Food aggressive?    No

Has allergies?    No

Type of family life?    Doesn’t care

Comments about family life:    She currently lives in a house with several other pets and visitors and does fine. She easily adjusts to changes and she has experienced many since her original home.

List anything the dog is afraid of:    She is a bit timid. It seems that she may not have experienced much with her previous life. She seemed to have never ridden in a car nor gone to a store before. She was afraid but still went up to people and dogs to explore.

Tell us about your foster basset:    Zap is a very sweet girl that doesn’t seem 7 years old. She is a spry and active petite little girl. She enjoys playing with stuffed toys and tearing around the house with the rest of the dogs, but can relax and nap when it’s time to be quiet. She enjoys her crate and seeks it out to sleep. She has no demands other than to be close to her people. She is working on her manners as I do not believe she had these in her previous home. She is learning very fast to be polite during feeding time and to go outside to use the bathroom. She is a fast learner and eager to please. You won’t go wrong with her if you decide to add her to your family. She is one of the sweetest most tender souled little girl. She will charm you the minute you meet her.
