Hi I’m Buddy, or Dudley… depends who you ask! I was rescued from an abandoned house, so I’m looking for my forever home now. I did live with a cat for a short time after I was rescued, so I should be fine with a feline in the house, but I do prefer to be the only dog around.

TEMPERAMENT & BEHAVIOR
Exposure to children? No
Describe the dog’s reaction to children: Dudley has not had exposure to children here; however, prior to coming to BBR Dudley was living with at least two children under 10 yrs of age.
Good with other dogs? No
Comments about behavior with other dogs: Dudley seems to like being with other dogs but is unpredictable and will attack without warning so it is my recommendation that he be placed as an only dog.
Good with cats? Unknown
Comments about behavior with cats: Dudley was living with at least one cat previously; however, I have not seen him around cats to know his reactions.
Good with birds, parrots, etc. Unknown
Good with other pets Unknown
Can climb stairs? Yes
Comments about stairs: Dudley is a very agile young Basset.
Pulls on a leash? Yes
Comments about pulling on a leash: Dudley will need basic leash training.
Food aggressive? Unknown
Comments about food aggressiveness: I crate feed so have not seen Dudley in a multiple feeding situation.
Has allergies? No
Type of family life? Doesn’t care|
Comments about family life: Dudley is a young Basset who has energy to play and run but he very much likes his “chair” time as well.
List anything the dog is afraid of : Dudley appears to be afraid of being scolded, he shakes and cowers at the slightest raise of your voice but I think he is starting to understand that a correction does not mean he will be harmed.
Tell us about your foster basset: Dudley is a very sweet boy! He loves to be petted gently and will even give an occasional kiss. He likes his outside/yard time and gets very excited by new sounds and smells and will “bay” to let you know. He also likes to play with toys but mostly just likes a nice, comfy dog bed, blanket, or chair to curl up in when inside. He will make an excellent companion for a gentle, loving home!
