Male
Age: 11.5 years (DOB 6/25/00)
Weight: 67 lbs
Being fostered in Wisconsin
Reason for Relinquishment:
Timmy’s most recent owners went through a divorce, and neither was able to keep him in their new living arrangements.
He has a healthy appetite, and appears to get-along well with other dogs – Although he is a senior – he still has a lot of “spunk”, and has attempted to become the “alpha male” in the past. Because of this, it would probably be best if any other dogs in this house are girls.
As is typical of older hounds – he can become startled somewhat easily (hearing & vision not what they used to be). Because of this, he can get a little “grumpy” if he is startled, and this would not make him a good fit for homes with babies or toddlers around.
He is house-trained, but needs to go-out about every 5-6 hours (he usually gets-up once during the night). He should be OK at a home where someone is usually around, or where someone can check on him at mid-day (eight hours or more would probably be a little too long to leave him alone). This is probably related to his age.
Timmy loves attention and “talks” to you if you are not giving him what he wants when he wants it. Timmy appears to prefer women over men. All-in-all; because he is such a sweet boy, his senior-quirks do not seem to be much of a burden.
